Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and a businesswoman. She's co-founder as well as chief executive officer of Thrive Global, as well as the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington has been the TV host, journalist, television philanthropist and author for over ten years. Her role also includes being the founder of The Huffington Post, an free-of-cost online newsmagazine. Originating from Greece she came to England when she was just 16 and was able to graduate from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. Arianna was famous when she made the decision to run as an independent candidate in the California recall election in order to replace Governor Davis. Forbes named her as the 12th most influential woman in media in 2009, and Guardian also included her on the list of Top 100 media in that same year. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post in 2011 and named her the President of their media group, which also included other AOL products like Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli is the child of Konstantinos, a journalist who was also a business consultant. While she was closely associated with her father it was her relationship with her mother that shaped her life. She displayed leadership qualities even in her early years. When she was 16 she moved to the United Kingdom to pursue her study and then enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society as a student, where she was the 3rd and only female who was elected president. In 1972 she graduated with her master's degree in Economics. After graduating, she worked as a columnist critic, and as a host on television. In addition, she was a part of the series Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books, utilizing editorial guidance from Bernard Levin.
