Lee Roy Selmon's history combines the virtues of family football scholarship and volunteerism in the community. The first time the Selmons were brought up with Lucious Semon and his wife Jessie. They lived on an agricultural property near Eufala in Oklahoma as one of the nine children they had. In second football, he was one of three brothers who played for Oklahoma. Three of them were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey was a starter for the entire 1973 season. Lee Roy received the Outland and Lombardi Awards for being the top lineman from the USA. In the three years that Roy was on the field, Oklahoma won two National Championships. The National Football Foundation named him an Scholar-Athlete for the 3rd time in 1975. Selmon has a bachelor's degree in educational studies. Lee Roy dedicated ten volunteer time per week throughout the college. After college he settled in Tampa playing nine years for the Buccaneers were the all-pro 3 times, and began a business career. The year 1988 was the first time he began working as an Account Relation Manager in the First Florida Bank in Tampa. He worked for Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute as well as the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It was the Junior Chamber of Commerce honored Lee Roy in 1982 for being one of the top 10 youths in the US. When he was a student Lee Roy was 6-2 and weighed about 256 pounds. He was captain of his college team in the year 1975. In 1993, he was appointed the associate director of Athletics at the University of South Florida. In 1993, the College Football Hall of Fame named him as a member in the year the year 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame In 1995. The Selmons' parents Lucious as well as Mary Selmon, Jr. received the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation.
